An infinite universe will be full of surprises. The Smoke Ring is such a wonder. Like the Ring World, it’s another solar system scale torus, but even further from familiar terra firma – there is no ground in this free fall ring of gas.
It’s also a great story with believable characters doing what humans do best, against all the odds.
