Distraction Free Writing?



I’ve decided that to make some rapid progress on Singularity’s Children Book Four, I need to get my head down for a solid burst of uninterrupted creativity.

Trusted friends have advised me that the quaint, sleepy, Dutch town of Amsterdam would be a perfect off-grid location for some distraction-free writing…
…so I will be heading over there in December.

If any of you happen to be about—flying through, on a city break or just looking for an excuse to visit—and fancy meeting up for a drink on Friday 14th December, let me know!

Future Tech – Transport Tubes, 2018 Style

The Boring Company LA test tunnel is set for its December demo.

With limited surface area on this ball, it has always seemed crazy to me that we pave over the whole thing with ugly, dangerous, polluting, noisey roads…

Cloning Neanderthal Brains – an Ethically Dubious Idea!



Cloning our long dead cousins—who we probably extincted with extreme prejudice—only to enslave them as the control systems for clunky robots…

At the very least this is a little insensitive; more likely its a provocation and justification for the coming oid uprising.

Whatever else, it’s certainly “Singularity” level wrongness and really needs to be logged in the book of bad ideas.

Neanderthals won’t hold a grudge for being exterminated 50K years ago only to be brought back as cybernetic slaves hard wired into servitor robots…
